Changes in Data Source Column

I have added a Distributor master file(Excel format), a particular distributor (say ABC Corp) sales invoice, redemption, sales return, purchase, and stock balance (All in .iqd format) into that model as well.

In each iqd file, i have distributor column which i hardcoded the name of the distributor ("ABC Corp"). Now i wish to change the distributor name of excel file to "ABC" and same to all distributor column in all (.iqd) files. Instead of opening all .imr files and do the changes there one by one, is there another simpler way of making the changes?

There is no easy way to accomplish this task.

A couple of suggestions.

1. Modify each individual IQD in a text editor

NOTE: Manual modifications to IQD files are not supported by Cognos.

2. Add a new calculated column to the datasources within the Model to reflect the new value.

It is recommended that the the IMR's be modified and the IQD's regenerated.
