and there is no dial tone. Changed it back to LAN1 and it works fine.
Here is the predicament, and I apologize for the very amateur situation. AT&T installed the BCM400 and are close to completing it but haven't provided the support I am looking for nor have they provided a contact number. We have found some deficiencies and were looking at changing the network architecture.
Ideally we want all of the desktop IP phones to connect to LAN1 and all remote users to connect in via LAN2. We have two T1 lines and the remote users would connect in via VPN through our second T1 which is on a separate network.
I changed the IP Address for LAN2 and no one could connect to the BCM with the i2050 through this separate network. The desktop phones still worked fine which were connected to LAN1. I changed the Published IP Address to LAN2 and now all could connect, ring, etc.; however, no dial tone or voice traffic was available.
Did I miss something or have a complete misunderstanding of the Published IP Address and/or the function of each LAN port. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
