Our IT-guys are on holiday and ofcourse now we have IT-trouble.
Yesterday the Tapedrive unit was replaced, after the replacement it is seen as online only as a standalone drive.
After the replacement the drive changed name from COMPAQ 2 to COMPAQ 3.
The old drive showed his inventory in the robotic libraries, how can we add the COMPAQ 3 so that it will show in there?

Thanks in advance...

John

If the IT guys were on vacation who put in the new tape drive?? Just teasing...

Is the replacement drive the exact same model of the drive being replaced? Was the old drive taken out and the new one put in its place, or are they both connected side-by-side? I'm going to assume the old one was removed and the new one put in its place...

Try this:
1) Stop the Backup Exec services.
2) Remove the old device driver, install an updated driver designed to work with that model.
3) Power-cycle the tape drive, or reboot the computer if the drive is not a stand-alone unit.
4) Start Backup Exec services (they'll restart by themselves if you reboot)

Let us know the results!
