Changed Admin Password now backup won't work

I changed the admin password on the server. During the nightly tape backup, the Veritas software showed errors that it could not access the client workstations.

I changed the admin password back to the original and could then run the tape backup routine no problem.

Why is this?

Id have a look in the Veritas Software to make sure that there is no password to run the task over the network....
It was probably set before and wont run cause of password/rights problem...is there a log you can check?
Also, check in the User Manager that you are in the list of Backup Operaters and Administrators for preforming the task. Jay~

quite not sure how veritas works but can you check if it has a service running with the operating system that requires a service account. if it does, the service account might be the administrator account itself. if you changed the password for the administrator, you must also update the service account password of Veritas through the Services applet.

jrdebug is on the right track. Veritas requires an account that requires administrator privileges as well as the right to log on as a service. If you change your administrator account you need to go in and modify Veritas to reflect that. Go to your Veritas directory and open a file called "beattach", you will see a configure services button that will allow you to reconfigure the account information that Veritas uses.
