Changed access password, modem not

Today I changed the crafxxx password on my Legend r6.1 v11.1 and could not connect to the system remotely. Changed it back to the original crafxxx, connecting no problems. Tried this three times and each time system specified it accepted password and could not connect remotely, either via modem or assisted.

Any ideas?

Which of course doesn't make sense based on what you have said.

I don't have any other ideas at this time.

The new password has to be the same number of digits as the old one 7 digits.

Are you kidding? Did AT&t/lucnet/avaya leave us hanging like that? Can it be longer?
