Change XP serial no. 1

One of my clients has 2 XP machines and 2 licences for them. Somehow the same serial no. has been entered on both - not a problem, but they want everything legit, so can they change the serial even now, after activation?

or you may do a Repair Install as this will ask for the key, but you loose all SP and Hotfixes that where installed...
