I have an icon on the desktop of a windows 7 computer and wanted to have zenworks 10 remove the icon when the user log's in. On windows xp I can set the value and change the dword. But for some reason with zenworks 10 if I setup the bundle to remove the icon it gives me a registry error. If I try to manualy change the dword windows 7 will not allow it. Is there a way to change the settings with zenworks.
The icon in question is the internet explorer which is replace with another icon to point to the internal web site.

When you search for regedit from the Start menu, in the pop up window that appears, right click and run as administrator. That should get you around any rights issues making the registry change. If that works for you, then set the bundle to run as a temporary administrator.

You can also accomplish this through the use of Group Policies.

Are you pushing group policies? If so disable the desktop shortcut that way.
