I have a 403 unit with 3.1. Normally in any other situation I would use visual voice to accomplish this but I cant with 3.1 here is my question / problem.

I setup hunt group voicemail (310) and setup a user with the H310 source number.

I know this is a very easy thing to setup and I searched as much as I could without posting it but here goes.

How does the user with the source # set the greeting and access the voicemail?

I am using the default *17 to check voicemail but it doesnt give the option to pick which mailbox to check and or change the greeting.

First change the H330 to Hgroupname
So do not use the number but the name

second

Make a shortcode for the group voicemail
It will not work with *17

Create a short code or button like;

?Huntgroupname

and in the source of your user Hhuntgroupnumber

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

Either,

Retrieve Messages from Specific Mailbox
This short code allows a user to retrieve messages from the mailbox of the hunt group 'Sales'. This usage is not supported on Voicemail Pro running in Intuity emulation mode unless a custom call flow has been created for the hunt group, refer to the Voicemail Pro help.

*Short Code: *99
*Telephone Number: "?Sales" huntgroup name
*Feature: VoicemailCollect

Or

*Short Code: *99
*Telephone Number: ?"Anonymous"
*Feature: VoicemailCollect

Where you will need to enter mailbox number and password

I tried the *Short Code: *99
*Telephone Number: "?Sales" huntgroup name
*Feature: VoicemailCollect

and when I access it from the extension that has the (HTest Hunt Group) it asks for "please enter mailbox number" when I put in 310 (the extension for the hunt group) it says remote access is not setup.

I am trying this on my system which is a 4.0 with VM Pro before I go to the customer which will be VMLite.

Could that be the problem?

Ok?

Has the mailbox been assigned a password.
I always add the user to the huntgroup too, if they should not ring just uncheck the box in the member part. This way it wont need the access code.

HGroup name will on do the light part.

mmm cant see why its asking for the mailbox number though? the shortcode should be sending that bit in?
Its not an embedded vm is it?

If the user is not a member of the hunt group, then they will be challenged to enter the hunt group voicemail code. If no code is set then the cryptic 'remote access' message.

Assing a button:
label =whateveryouwanttocallit
action =\advanced\voicemail\Voicemail Collect
data =Sales

When it doesn't function start the vmproservice (temporarily) under the sa-account and interact with desktop ticked. Now you can monitor real-time what mailbox the IPOffice is trying to access. (don't forget to tick run on the top-bar otherwise there will be no output on you display.

It is not embedded VM, it is VM lite. I will shut down VM Pro later and see what happens. I will keep you posted. Thanks for the help.

Your last post wasn't very clear if it's Lite or Pro, but certainly not embedded.

VMLite is a program and will always output data to the screen (if you select run).
Look at the screen which mailbox name is displayed when accessing it.

I am going to start from the top because I have made many changes and nothing seems to work. This is what I have.

1. A hunt group named (Test Hunt Group)
This hunt group is extension 310
In the extension list there is extension 116 (myself)

2. In the user section (myself extension 116)
The source numbers are V116
HTest Hunt Group

3. Under the system short codes I have
Code *99
Telephone ?Test Hunt Group
Feature Voicemail collect.

Now when I hit *99 the display says ?T116 and then it asks for "please enter your mailbox number"

If I put in 310 it says remote access is not allowed

This is starting to really confuse me. Any other situation I would use visual voice.

Get rid of spaces and try.

Remote access is not allowed:

Put a voicemailcode \ confirm voicmail code in the voicemail tab of the 310 huntgroup.

It comes with "please enter your mailbox number"
because it doesn't recognise the mailbox name. That's why I asked you to look at the screen to see what vmbox was beiing accessed.

and put that that short code telephone number is quotes "?TestHuntGroup" as otherwise the IP Office will try to interpret the characters as special short code characters rather than just passing them as is to the voicemail server.

ps. "For systems running in Intuity mode, the above will work only if the user is a member of the group and a custom call flow has also been set up for the collect start point to that hunt group." - straight from the manual.

I think it's VM-lite (not sure untill now no reply lite or pro) so stuck on the more pleasant IPOffice mode.
He could use the VHuntgroupnubmer (i.e. V310) to bypass the mailbox password that I asked him to set.

Escorthosis, you hit the nail on the head. It seems like the problem was that there wasnt a access code put in. As soon as I did that it allowed me to check and record the hunt group messages.

Thank everyone of you very much for your help.

didnt I put this 10 posts up?
