Hi

I have installed red hat 9 as a guest, that went fine and I also installed VMtools. But I would like to change the resoulution from 800x600 to at least 1024x768. Since I'm very new to linux I could use help with this. How do I do this? I tryed to change to the vmware driver, but then linux didn't start in x mode anymore.....

I believe in RH9 they still used Xconfigurator (it has been a long time since I've even seen an RH9 install). That should allow you to redefine your resolution.

If you are brave, you should be able to edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config file to add the resolution(s) that you would like to run. You probably want to copy the working file before you play with it, so if you screw it up you can boot to runlevel 3 and replace the file.
