ACCPAC 5.2 (with Latest Service Packs)
Win 2003 Server
MS SQL Server 2000
All workstations running XP SP2

I recently migrated my ACCPAC to a newer more powerful server.
On the earlier server we were using the 'shared and mapped' drive configuration for workstation setup.
On the new server we are using the 'UNC' configuration for workstation setup.

After switching to the UNC configuration, there has been a reduction in the application speed and users are complaining that reports are taking longer to run than before.

Any measures that can be taken to improve the speed ?

Did you run REGACC /U before changing servers?
The problem is that the Accpac objects are pointing to the old path in the registry, if you turn off the old server then things will slow down.
Also check for Customization folders pointing to the old server.
Also check your DNS settings, a bad DNS can slow things down asw ell.

Hi Etienne,
Thank you for the assistance.

I have performed the following :
1.Run REGACC.exe
2.Checked and deleted all customisation folders.

Not sure about what to check on DNS settings.
Could you help ?

Ping the server by name, what is the response like?
As a test you can add the server IP address to your HOSTS file and see if that makes any difference.
