Having tried to upgrade a 5215 to Enhanced SIP, it rebooted and now all the lights are on Orange, the LCD is back lit but the thing is dead.

Is there anyway around this.

I saw a link to a Mitel article about SIP upgrading requiring Mitel Service Costs, (article MN00221947) but the link was dead.

Is it a known problem? Any ke strokes put it into some kind of tftp recovery on a default IP address?

Cheers

Tim

What is Enhanced SIP?

Try removing power, holding both volume keys and appling power.

Also try and hold 6, while applying power.

If neither fix, you need to send it back to Mitel (as it sounds like the BootProm is pouched).

Actually.. I dunno.. The SIP Admin guide goes on about getting more features in SIP Enhanced mode that in dual mode.

I was trying to firmware upgrade it one more time and basically it didnt come back.

Tried the Volume keys and the superkeys but nothing, Ill try '6' tomorrow.

Trying to do another one now, and that hangs on DHCP when you tell it to go and do a firmware upgrade via TFTP or HTTP (in SIP mode).. Unplug it for 5 minutes and it boots in the oringal mode, tell it to do the upgrade again and it hangs on dhcp

Im running out of handsets..

I think with that said the phone is done. You will need to return the phone to Mitel to have the BootProm removed, and repaired.

Some times if you talk real sweat to the nice ladies at Mitel Repair they will do it for free, but I think they have to answer "why?" so it's not that easy to get.
