I have a 8500 server and need to move to 4 digit extension number, I have 3 digit extension now, Do I have to reprogram every Station ?

Yes you would. You may want to ask Avaya for a quote. There are alot of hooks in the dialplan, such as coverage path and abbreviated dial lists.

Avaya has a program that can change everything at once for you. The dial plan, extensions, hunt groups, vectors, everything. We recently changed from a 4 to a 5 digit dial plan. It made this very painless (other than the users complaining about having to dial 1 more digit). The only thing that we were worried about was our announcements. Sometimes they get lost during this procedure. Luckily ours did not get lost. We are still using the TN 750 boards. They say it is not a problem for Val boards.

pyasmith,

i'd recommend to upgrade to cm2.2 first, and then do a 'change extension-station' for every station. you can schedule it using asa so you wouldn't have to do it manually.

I have to agree with mikeydidit. We had Avaya do the conversion to 5 digit extensions, and it was well worth the money.
