Change Title and Subject Properties in file

Can I use scripting to modify the title, subject, category or keywords of files. I have searched an couldn't really determine if possible. I am new at scripting but have done a fair amount of VBA in Access.

Some of this might be accessible using the Shell.Application object...and others through the use of DSO (not limited to MS documents, but there may be limited properties that it can access)
