I have used CorelDraw9 for years with Logitech Mouseware - I recently updated the mouseware to the new SetPoint Drivers and CorelDraw9 no longer scrolls with the wheel, it zooms.

I've done a bit of reading and discovered that this is apparently the proper default behavior - but I don't like it.

Can anywone tell me how to change it back to scrolling without loading the old mouse drivers?

Some of Logitechs drivers have an option in the Control Panel > Mouse that changes the behavior of the middle mouse wheel. Chances are it was being used as a different function. You may have to play around with a few different options before you find the correct choice. I believe the default selection is "Universal scroll". You may have to change it to "middle button" or there may even be a choice for "zoom". My guess is Corel was reading the old action performed by the mouse wheel differently then it is reading the new action (duh - obviously) so you may even have to explore Logitechs website, and see if you can find the driver update lists, and see which version the old middle wheel function changed to the new function.

One caveat, this could change the way other programs behave with the middle mouse button.

Lastly, you might try under Draw's options (Tools > Options > Customization > Commands) to change some of the default behaviors for certain functions. I can't recall if v9 had these settings or not. There is now a drop down menu in the top right corner of that screen that allows you to change different behavior categories (File, Tools, View, etc), and each action can have a short cut key. The "Pan" function is under the View category. I didn't immediately see the option for assigning the middle wheel button - but it may require a quick programing shortcut to be entered to recognize text as a mouse funtion - I am not entirely sure (i.e ALT + F7, or some other Shift + Function key or something similar). Hope this helps.

I already checked the mouse configs and I couldn't find anything in the Corel9 options.

The problem is that Logitech's driver used to override mouse assignments in programs and now the Mouse Driver allows programs to override the driver's settings - So Corel is behaving as it should - but I'm used to working the other way. I don't want to zoom, I want to scroll.

Does the current version of CorelDraw allow scrolling with the wheel instead of zooming?

no

Honestly, I have a hard time imaging trying to use it the other way - once you get the hang of it - I believe it is one of the most functional implementations that Corel has. Adobe is missing this - ever try to zoom in and out on Adobe? - it is a two handed operation.

You might find that zooming is easier to move around the doucment (at least on X3). As the zoom tool recenters on the position of your mouse. So if you zoom out enough to see the overall effect, then zoom back in for node adjustment or something else, as you move your mouse around the screen, the new zoom location centers on your mouse. This is really quite convenient. This also almost eliminates the need to pan or scroll around the screen as you can put the mouse on any part of the page as you zoom in. I am not sure if there is a setting that allows you to "Center on Zoom" in earlier versions (v11 and back), but it might be worth looking itno to see what is available. Also for the older versions there are some really handy plug in tools that may include this function if it isn't already built in. I believe Brushman had a link to a site a few weeks ago that had some really handy features. He might post it again after reading this thread, or I will search for it later.

Discovered the "h" shortcut for pan while exporing your suggestions - so I set "j" to be the pick tool and now I can easily pan around and zoom. - Thanks!
