Here is the situation. My company has been aquired by another company. While we are in this "transition" period, some users will want to use the @old_domain.com address some of the time and the @new_domain.com other times. I've gone through and set everything up so that the MX records and all are correct and I can recieve e-mail sent to either me@old_domain.com or me@new_domain.com. The issue is when I send, I can't seem to figure out if there is a way to change the address I'm sending from. I can go to the exchange server itself and change the primary address for a user, which will change the domain name they are sending from, but I wonder if there is a way to do it within Outlook. Is there a way within Outlook 2003 to change which domain name your sending from? If I just try putting "me@new_domain.com" in the "from" I get back a "system administrator: undeliverable" error saying that I don't have permission to send.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, I'm sorry, I searched but didn't find anything. I'll try searching again.

Ok, I'm getting results when I search (obviously) but I'm not finding this situation. I know you've helped out with these in the past 58sniper, perhaps you have a better search string and could supply me with a link or two? Thanks.

Note that I'm not questioning the putting "me@new_domain.com" in the "from" and getting back a "system administrator: undeliverable" error saying that I don't have permission to send. I can send as either me@old_domain.com or me@new_domain.com as long as I set the address as the primary address within exchange. So I guess the actuall question should be, if you have multiple addresses within Exchange 2003, can you send from an address that is not set as your primary?

Ok, so the short answer seems to be you can't send from an address that is not your primary address within Exchange without resorting to a 3rd party program or a Pop3 account.

That's what I needed to know. Thanks.
