hi i have sql 2000 installed but how do i transfer my sharepoint database from being MSDE to MSSQL2000.

I have seen many links.
and tried many things.
..just a few!

the company that hosts our server installed sharepoint and mssql2000 but htey did not migrate the sharepoint msde over to sql2000. the search box on the sharepoint does not work.

In enterprise manager I can see the 'local' and 'MYSERVER\Sharepoint'. The local one is sql2000 - I know this because if i right click and go to properties, the MYSERVER\Sharepoint one is MSDE (right click go to properties). So the local one has full text search but the sharepoint one does not.

Any help with this would be appreciated!
Thanks!!
Paul

Well the easiest way is to upgrade your (W)MSDE... that is if the 'local' isnt used. Then delete SQL server.

Insert the SQL server install disk (only standard and above), select the 2 option in the install menu and upgrade the (W)MSDE, dont forget to install the full text seach component.

and else follow the steps you posted your self:

i'll ask the server hosting company to supply me with the setup files that i need.

i suspect that there will be more hurdles after this but just in case they don't, and everything goes smoothly, thanks very much for your help!
