is it possible to change a reports controls datasources programatically?

Your question is a little vague. Are you trying to change the datasource for each individual control on the report? Then is answer is yes. It can be changed using VBA code. Consult the help text.

If your question is that you want to change the reports records source. Then the answer is yes. There is a sample report in the Northwind (sample) database. Open then print dialog form an look at the "Onclick" code for the print button.
