Change read-only attribute

I've copied my MDBs to a CDRW. They are copied as "read- only". The problem is, I have "on open" code on some forms to "go to a new record". As read only they won't open, since this is an update action. Is there any way to change the attribute or prevent it from being set to read only on the CD?
