I have problems changing the queue depth on AIX for an EMC device. Queue depth param cannot be changed for SRDF protected volumes. I have :
AIX 5.1 maintenance level 4
ODM : 5.0.0.0
Symm 8830 with microcode 67, connected through 6228 FC HBA's.

I'm not sure there really is a question here. If you can't change the queue depth for an SRDF protected volume and the EMC device is an SRDF protected volume, then you can't do it. Alternatively, could you take the device out of SRDF protection? But then you would lose all the advantages that SRDF gives you.

Why do you want to change the queue depth?

I want to change the queue depth for performance reasons.
We see that the symmetrix is very little used and want to increase load on the symm
