Change Pre-define Layer

Program AutoCad 2005 Mechanical.
When I use the amhatch button in the toolbar AMraw the hatching automatically goes to layer 'AM_8' which cannot stand the color or the name. So my question Is there a way to change this so that could use something like layer name 'section'?

I have never done it but I believe in ASSIST >> OPTIONS >> AM_STANDARDS >> then for whatever standard you are using, you pick Layers and you can then set the layers or the object types and their layers.
