Hi,

Am about to install Sharepoint 2007 on a Windows 2003 server. However, there is already an app using port 80 that just cannot be moved. Is there anyway to change the default port when installing Sharepoint 2007 or after installation? Fairly certain this could not be done in earlier versions..........

Many thanks in advance. :)

I have only really dabbled with MOSS 2007, having spent a lot more time on WSS 3.0, but I think they are the same in this respect. Whenever you create a web application, whether it's the Admin Console (which happens during the first run of the Config Wizard) or the content web applications (which you do through the Admin Console), you get the option to change the default port.

The Admin Console will default to some random port (way above 80). The normal content web applications will default to 80 but, as I say, you are given the opportunity to override the default in both cases.
