Have to move phone.to new port, any help appreciated. Thanks

More info please. Operator position? Multiline? MLX? TDL? T/R? you have ports available? Programming through the console phone, or do you have a computer running WinSPM?

It is a MLX phone I have 1 port available and will be using WinSPM connecting to Admin port with my laptop.

Thanks

OK, you need to find out the extension number on the new port, and you can do that by plugging in the phone, pressing SPKR, and dialing #00. The display will show you the extension number.

In WinSPM, you want to go to Centralized Telephone Programming, Copy Extension, put in the extension number of where the phone used to be, and then the extension number extension number of the new port. That will set up the buttons to match.

Now you want to change the extension numbers, so that you can keep the old extension number on the new port. First go to Maintenance, Port, Station, dial the old extension number and Enter, then press Status. Look at the Logical ID number. Add 7099 to it, and that will be the default set up space number that you want to return that port to.

Back in System Programming, go to System Renumber, Single, Extension, put in the old extension number, put in the number that you added it above, then go Extension again, put in the extension number of the phone on the new port, and put in the old extension number.

If it has a mailbox, go to Extensions, More, Group Coverage, 30, Enter, extension number, Enter.

And finally, go to Labeling, Directory, Extension, put in the extension number, and type in the name. You probably want to also put in that 71XX extension number and delete the name to avoid confusion in the future.

Good luck!
