Hi all

I am working sort of in the blind. I have a site, that has several extensions and are using the auto attendant to route calls based on choices made by the customer. In the auto attendant, options 1, 2, and 3 go to the same extension (please don't ask why, this was before my time) and that is the only phone that rings until it rolls over to another set. The office manager wants all the phones to ring when the calls come in and the customer pushes, either one of the 3 options. Even though there are people who answer the phone, she wants others to be able to hear the phones when they ring. I tried going in and changing the set from No ringing to Ringing, but when I did that, the phone rang constantly, just one time and no one is there. Can someone please help.

You need to create a HG (Hunt Group) for all the DNs you want to ring. Then change the Paths (1, 2, and 3) to the HG DNs instead of the individual DN, they go to now.

Thank you. How do I create a hunt group? ( am used to working on an Avaya system and a Call Pilot system where everything was done via the computer. Now I have to do this via the feature buttons on the phone and I don't know where to start.

Google Norstar MICS Install Guide.

Navigate to SystemProgramming and press Show
Next until you see Hunt groups and press Show.
Show again for Hunt Group 001
Add members (DNs)
Can choose broadcast, overflow etc
You must read the Hunt Group section of the guide.

If you have older software, and don't want to upgrade, you could use answer dn's. That's under Terminals&Sets/Line access.

Hunt groups are usually the preferred method if you've got them available. They give you more options for your call routing.
