We just migrated from an Exchange 5.5 Windows 2000 server to SBS 2003/Exchange 2003. We were unable to get the migration tool to work, and after 10 hours on the phone with M$ we managed to get all of the mailboxes imported, but the public folders are another story.

Long story short: I have the public folders in a .pst, but the permissions are messed up. Is there a way to change the permissions on all public folders in one fell swoop?

Thanks,

Kristine

We are kind of in the same boat, you are right, Public Folders are a different story, they're causing major problems for our users ... I recently posted a problem that we are experiencing that has to do with Public Folders as well, but got no responses, here it is again, hope we get something this time......

A bit confused about how Public Folder Replication is supposed to work. We are about 3/4 of the way to moving all mailboxes from ES 5.5 to 03. Have moved the simple "no issues" mailboxes with little or no problems. The problems start when a client has been moved over to ES 03, but then cannot access their PF that they have been granted permissions to. In the last multiple mailbox move, 3 clients were unable to access their public folders, but after a certain time and PC shutdown the folders suddenly appeared. How should replication be set up? Sometimes Public Folder kick in after 12 hours or less and other times it takes days? Still not sure if PF exsist on both servers and what server is being accessed by the client. Appreciate any advise, tips, warnings, anything, as we would like to get off the old ES very soon.
PS..Most clients using WinXP, Outlook 2003
Thanks!
