change pdf to text

hello everyone!!
HOw are you? I have question that how can i change
filename.pdf to filename.txt(text). currently, i am using
sun OS solaris 8.

hey nanotech there is no method by which u can save u r .pdf file to .txt..
the least u can do is to copy the text from the pdf file and paste into u r txt document

acrobat can do a pdf to ps ... and you can then go through the postscript with some kind of parser ...

or you could just cut and paste graphically

new version of ghostcript can do pdf -> ps as well -- a lot faster than acrobat, by the way Mike

acrobat reader can be used on the command line to do it, so therefore it's not bad at converting ... i hadn't realised it could till we started looking at HT-DIG (a free search engine ... which works really well btw)
