Good day.

I maintain an Access application that connects to an Oracle database via ODBC.

When a new user request access to the application, I set up in the his machine the ODBC connection. I use the odbcad32.exe located in Windows\SYSWOW64 and, usually I have no connection problem.

In a recent set up, the Access app can't connect to Oracle. I checked the Control Panel and substituted the Data Sources (ODBC) target path to Windows\SYSWOW64 but it won't use it. There's another program in the Control Panel named ODBC (32-bit). Apparently this is the one the app is trying to connect to. The path of this one is Windows\System32.

The issue is that if I create a System DNS connection using ODBC (32-bit)program, when I test the connection it gives a ORA-12541: TNS:no listener. Again, I have never encountered this problem with other users of this and other Access apps.

My client's laptop has Windows 10. Mine have Windows 7 and we both have the same issue.

Thanks for your comments.
