We're using SX-200. I want to change password for an account say maint2. I logon with maint1 into SX200 ICP web

console, then go to "Mantenance Commands" => "System" => "set" => "Password" => "Maint2" => enter new

password => verify new password. Everything seems to be OK.

But when I logon with maint2 to SX200 ICP web console, I see error messages:

Alarm Status: Failed to retrieve system alarm.

1 - maintenance
2 - CDE
6 - Quit
Selecting an application: 2
Enter Username: maint2
Enter Password:
Authorization failure

It seems that the new password takes part role, but still no full function.(If password is wrong, I can not
see this error message.)

Did I do something wrong or I need do more settings after change password?(e.g. restart SX200 or something?). Please help me. Thanks.

On an SX200 ICP, there are two locations that you have to change your password.
1 location is under the maintenance for password, and the other is located in Form 28, set password, then select level to change.

Thank YnotPhone. But Form 28 is for access restriction. I can not a option to change password in Form. I guess I might miss something. but don't know what I missed. May be in different form? I'm new to use SX-200 and Mitel. Hope to help. Thanks.

No, Form 28 controls form access AND password access to CDE.

The password you have changed is in Maintenance and for maintenance only NOT CDE.

Thanks YnotPhone. I suceed to change password by followin your direction. Forget my previous paste, that is my mitakes to get error. Your reply is right to solve my problem. Thanks again.

It seems that change password in maintenance system commands can access to system, but can not access CDE. For a complete change, should change both in Form 28 and Maintenance system set.

Maintenance password is for access to Maintenance

Cde password (form 28) is for access to CDE

Pretty straight forward really.
