Hi All,

We recently changed a process where the cashier would handle and adjust/close all checks to where servers now adjusted their own tips and close the checks.

We are now having an issue with balancing the cash draw to the checkout report “cash owed”. When all the checks were closed out by the cashier the Cash draw and Cash owed on the report balanced fine.

Could anyone advise what we need to do to adjust or update Aloha to have these 2 balance again, while servers close checks.

many thanks.
Greg

Just to add some more clarity to this and backing up a bit....

We are testing out a hybrid arrangment of closing out checks. i.e. servers are only closing their credit cards but the cashiers are still handelling Cash/gift cards etc. for the servers. So we are not doing full blown "Server Banking" ....We are not trying to comlicate it, but it will work nicely for us if we can get it right.

Now in the past the cashier would simply count the draw and run checkout, then look at the "Total cash owed" and balance their draw, give or take a few cents or a dollar here or there for over\short.

With the new process the cashiers "Total cash owed" does not balance of coarse with the draw but since servers now do a checkout of there own, if you add there total cash owed with the Cashiers total cash owed it balances.

...and now my question, Since the cashier in our case is still ultimatly responsible for balancing & auditing the shift. is there away to adjust the cashers "checkout report" to help her with this. In other words I would like to reflect a total on their report that they can simply add with their total and balance the cash.

thanks in advance for any help with this.
