Hello all,

We have a company phone system - OLD! Nortel norstar phones at each desk. All are M7310 style phones along with the main Hub at one desk. I am having some trouble changing the message that plays when we have our phones on Night service. I have tried going into the General Delivery mailbox, recording a new message on the "Prime" and then choosing that we want to play that message.

It now seems to me that is a totally different function that we do not use.

Could you please help. We use the "Night" button manually and just turn it on at the end of the day.

Thank you

General Delivery is just a mail box, where people end up if they press 0 from AA and do not answer.

Auto Attendant and CCR (more complex) are your main greetings.

Night button is to tell voice mail (or a group of phones) to answer right away.

You should get some administration training if you are trying to do it yourself or just call in a tech for when you need it changed.

Thank you curlycord,

That is what I have figured out so far - there are numerous different functions all related to voicemail type things. I also know for certain which one I need to change, just not how to change it.

Are you able to help lead me in the right direction on how to access the "Night Button" programming section in the phone so that I may change our message? I'm certain if you can get me there, I can figure out how to change things.

As Curlycord indicated. The night button has nothing to do with the actual greeting. You most likely need to change a CCR tree recording. Once you find the right greeting, just record then save. It would be in the voice mail administration. Depending on how "old" the system you may need to turn off the tree before making changes. It can get a little complicated, especially if you have never done it before. Depending on how often this gets changed it might be woth it tohave someone come in and either make the change or give some basic training.

What Curly is trying to say is, on this site we'll tell you what to do, but not how to do it.
