change new folder default

I have the need to create folders on an AS400 from windows and when you create a folder the default folder name "new folder" is invalid on the AS400 because of blanks and also the length can't be greater than 8 positions.
Is there a way to change the Windows default "new folder" to one word 8 characters or less.

Usually the words are highlighted in the box and allow simply typing over them with what you wish. A work-around may be to create the new folder on your workstation and copy it to the AS400?
