How does one change the name of a machine?

I have a server running SCO Unix OpenServer 5.05, whose name I wish to change. A hard drive died in another system and I moved a hard drive (and Network Card) from a second system into the original system.

Changing the HOSTS file and making several changes in the Network area of SCOadmin have proved fruitless. The name keeps reverting back to what it was called when the OS was installed. I am able to ping to and from the system.

I will eventially need to change the IP Address of it as well, though I have not gotten to that point yet. I believe this system only uses the /etc/HOSTS file for name translation. It does not look to a DNS Server, although I have made the necesary changes to it, just in case.

Thanks!

Hello.

Start scoadmin -> network and change your hostname there.
Then go to a prompt and change the hostname with "uname -S newname". That should do the trick.
