Hi

I have UNIX BOX with HP-UX 11.11 installed on it.
I want to change name of the filesystem [mountpt.] of
one of the f/s /saporig without destroying the data.
Can anyone help me on the same.

Thanks

Andy

Hi,
Unmount the FS, mount it at new mountpoint.
Update the /etc/vfstab with the new mountpoint name.

Hi
Thanks,,but I would like to know wheather I need to make
any changes in Logical volume manager along with /etc/fstab
file.

Andy

No, there shouldn't be any changes required since you are not changing anything on the logical volume. You only need to unmount the filesystem, create the new mountpoint directory and mount the filesystem there. To have this automated change the /etc/fstab file also thogli advised.

Regards,
George

Hi

I did the activity & it's successful.

Thanks
