Change Multiple file names 1

How can I change multiple file names with one command???

example:
VOL_000.000
VOL_000.001
etc

change to
VOL.000.000
VOL.000.001
etc

I have 32 to change...

Hi:

This changes all underscores in the filename:


for i in *
do
mv $i `echo $i|sed -e "s/_/\./g"`
done
