I've been asked by a friend how do they change the message that appears on your screen when you shutdown "it is now safe to turn your computer off" they wish to change that and make it a more personal message. Any ideas on how to do it.

Many thanks on my mates behalf for all your replies.

Thanks from me also in advance

This is the logos.sys file in \windows. Just create a different bitmap with message/picture you want and save it in the same format - 320x400 pixels 256 colours - should be about 126kb. Rename to logos.sys & replace existing in the \windows folder (save original?)

Or you can try googling for the thousands that have been made by people on the net (often as part of a theme). This freeware will also manage them (as well as themes etc) for you, if you wish.
