When a users application is running in the unix terminal and the user is sending some events to the appliction I would like to change certain keyevents and pass it to the application .How do i do it???

MikeLacey (and Justice41 I think) knows a good bit more about the $SIG{EVENT} handling mechanism than I do...

Fellas: take it away!

Which "events" do you want to change? If you want to prevent a user from exiting the script by pressing <crtl-c> then you would use sig-handlers as Jim mentioned. If that's not what you mean then you'll have to clarify.

The only reason I piped in was to offer a hint as to what I thought the solution was. Kind of get the ball rolling on it. Maybe even tip off javabeanx towards a solution.

But rather than mislead beano with poor advice, I thought I'd pass the ball to someone better suited. Kind of like a professional reference.

More after these messages.

You should take a look at his posts in all fora.

He has asked a lot of questions in a lot of fora about intercepting keyboard and mouse input. Hadn't gotten a lot of answers, though. ______________________________________________________________________
