I have changed the IP address on one of our SX2000 PBXs and for the change to take there is a load command but I can not remember it. Anyone know what it is? And isn't the load command the same as a soft boot? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Oh you're so close. The command would be "load" and yest that would be like a soft reset. I am not sure if that will do it though as I think the whole MCC needs to reboot. If it is a redundant you can do an activity switch and that will take care of it.

Thanks, Mitelman. Do I have to use Load Command and then the plid location of the processor(s) (like Load 1.1.1)or just load? And if I type in VErsion - will that tell me if it is a redundant system? Thanks.

well if you do just "load" it will reboot all the pernodes, but not the main control where the ip addresses are stored. As for if you are redundant, if you have an A and a B side then you are good to go and can just get away with activity switches. If you don't you will have to do a reset of the controller.

Thanks. That is what I did last night before I left. Changed the IP addresses and then did the 'load' command and this morning the IPs reverted back.
I think I am still missing a piece of the puzzle. So, after I change the IPs, and this is on a redundant system, how do I get the change to take? Do I need to reboot the main control? Can I do that remotely?

You can change the IP addresses then you must issue the IP commit command. When done you can do a load on the inactive either 1 1 2 or 1 1 7 and then wait for the it to come back up the IP's will be ok then you can do an activity switch and repeat for othe plane. If a non redundant ip commit the load 1 1 1 at an after hours time.

Thanks CaperJ - so to recap...I make the IP change. Then I use the IP Commit command. When that is complete I do a load on 1.1.2 or 1.1.7? I believe that the Control Resource card resides in 1.1.2 and main controller card in 1.1.1 but I am not sure what is in the 1.1.7 slot. Also, what is the command to to an activity switch?

If you are working on a non redundant or a microlight the controller card is in 1 1 1 a redundant cabinet has 2 controllers one in 1 1 2 and one in 1 1 7, you would have to do both. the command for an activity switch is act sw f but this willonly work on a redundant with 2 main controllers

On a non-redundant/microlight, just plain "load" has worked for me in the past. I think the kicker here is remembering to punch in "ip commit" once you have the new settings programmed.

Thanks...it did work. I have other switches that I need to change and will give just the "load" command a try and let everyone know. Once again, appreciate all the help on this.
