Hello everyone.
We have a server with Groupwise 6 which has been running fine for a long while but now our company has decided to change ISP so our external ip´s will change and my question is: Is there any easy way to change the ip of the groupwise-server or do I have to reinstall the whole server ?

/Dan

if it's only the external address then all you need to do is edit the relay host in the gwia object

if you want to change ip address on a groupwise box internally then all you do is edit the mta or poa properties
verify cx in link conf and modify ngwnamserver in dns
i also prefer a quick rebuild

there are lots of tids on this

You have to excuse me but I´m quite new to this ;)
Since we have changed ISP it´s the external ip that needs to be changed... by the way, what is the internal ip on a groupwise box ?
Could you elaborate on "changing the relay host in the gwia object" ?

Since we don't know what your email topology is it's a little tough to help. Do you use a proxy between the internet and your GWIA? If so, perhaps nothing on your Groupwise server needs to change. Also, is your network running public (routable) IP's or is it using NAT? If it's using NAT you only have to change the static mapping on the router/firewall.. In any event the only IP which really matters is the one that matches your MX record in DNS since this is where email is headed. :) IF that address is the IP of your GWIA, then just change the IP of your GWIA. If that address is the IP of your email proxy server, then just change the relay host IP in the GWIA object properties. If you can post more specifics, we can be more specific.
re: elaborating on changing IP on the GWIA object - each of the 3 parts of Groupwise (MTA, POA & GWIA) can be run on seperate machines and can have their own IP addresses. For example, you might want to run your GWIA on a screened subnet (DMZ) while the POA & MTA might be behind your firewall for security reasons.
Anyhow the different agents can have different IP's, that's all.
