Change in port number causes broken doc link 1

I had installed Sharepoint in default port and uploaded few documents under Documents link. Latter I had changed the port number of Sharepoint site. After that whenever I click documnet link it is going to

http://sitename/doc/

instead of

http://sitename:81/doc.

Any idea how to fix this ?

I'm not sure if it will work, but did you check your alternate access mappings in central admin?

Thanks much dinger for your pointer. It worked perfectly. It looks like we need to perform this everytime we change port ?

yes, you will need to maintain your alternate access mappings if you change the site to use another port.
