I'm trying to find a way to change my user's print settings (slightly) in IE when they print a specific report from our Intranet. I need to check the setting for "print background colors and images" (Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > print background colors and images) in Internet Explorer. I already have a vbscript that's temporarily removing the headers and footers for printing and then replacing them. Does anyone know of a script that might could do the same with the "print background colors and images" setting?

Thanks!

Hope This Helps!

You can't.

If you want to create printable documents, you should look into PDF generators. I've had great success with HTMLDOC (free) although it currently only supports HTML 3.2 and no CSS. You can change everything from margins to papersize to font style using it.

If it isn't worth that headache, just pop up an alert box telling them they must change the setting in order for the page to print correctly.
