Hello
If I need to change a harddrive in a nw5 server, is there a special way of moving the data from the old disk to the new one or can I simply use for example ghost or drive image ?

Server Magic would work better if you choose the image way.

Is the drive you want to replace the boot drive? or hold SYS on it? If it does, you will have to use standard backup/restore. If not and you don't use NSS, there is an easier way.

You can use a standard backup/restore deal. OR you can create a parition on the new drive the same size as the old drive. Mirror the partitions and allow the system to sync them. Once the sync is complete, break the mirror. when prompted to, rename the old drive's volume to something else and retain the new drives volume name. Then create another netware partition and span the volume to that partition to use the rest of the disk space on the new drive.

You can do the same with a boot/SYS drive, but if any part of this method makes you go "huh?" I wouldn't go forward with it.

Always be sure to do a backup before doing anything.

It is the boot drive and it holds SYS. The standard backup/restore you´re talking about, is that an included feature in NW ? (I´ve never changed a disk in a nw server as you might have understood ;))
