one of my users got married and changed her last name. I know how to update the SQL side of things so that the user security would follow... what about in GP??? anyone have any "gotcha" things that I would want to watch out for or stay away from?

I would create a new user in GP (which will create a new SQL user) and copy the GP security from the old user to the new one. While it may be possible to rename everything, there is no built in mechanism in GP to do this, so you would need to manually change a lot of tables and do some serious testing to make sure it works. A lot of work for something that is very rarely needed and could be taken care or another way. Just my 2 cents.
