Some clients want to use my old foxpro software in windows vista.
Few systems allow to modify \windows\system32\config.nt file the command

FILES=40 to files =140

while saving the config.nt some systems say that you are not authorised to modify /change despite loging in as administarator.

Please help me. Thanks

Gotta say that you can't be logged on as the local admin then. I have just gone into my config.nt file and made the changes you did (using notepad) and closed it down without issue.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Forgot to add, what happens if you try editing the files from the command line (elevated privs of course)? It may simply be that you have UAC running or need to do something about elevating your rights. Running Edit from the elevated command line should indicate one way or another whether its a rights issue.
