Change Field selected based on user input

I have a file with one record for each month and 31 fields representing each day. I want to display a field based on the user selecting a day. How do I change the field name in the query based on the day inputted in a form?
[LOG_READING_21] represents Day 21. A nested IF is too long. Or how do I change the SQL statement and update the query?
