Change Ext in IP Communicator

Hi All,

I'm new to Cisco CCM and apps. I set up IP Communicator with a certain extension, and wanted to change it to a different one, but I'm not sure how to do that. The help files for Communicator aren't very helpful with that.

Do I have to uninstall and reinstall Communicator, or is there a way to change it in the app?

Just launch your Call Manager. From the menu click device\phone. Do a search under the the current extension. Once found click on the phone and then on the line in th eupper left. Then change the number to what ever you wish.
 
Ah. I see. So you have to change it in Call Manager. You can't change it in IP Communicator.

You could set the communicator up for extension mobility and just use different profiles to log onto it. Each profile would have a different number assigned to it.
