Change DTMF spacing on analog ports? 1

IP Office 406v2 4.1(15) with analog ports connected to a Hylafax fax server. Trying to route fax calls using DTMF, but it's unreliable. For example, 4344 is sometimes read as 433, 434, 4333, etc. Hylafax support says the (Mainpine) modem board in the server is sensitive to DTMF spacing and ideally likes to see 100ms. No problem I say, except as far as I can tell the IPO's default spacing is 80ms and NOT configurable? (besides on inbound analog trunks, I know, which doesn't help at all). Is there some way to change this with short codes, or get creative and pass the calls through something - anything, which can change the DTMF spacing?

Thanks, -Joe Z.

How about changing the modem to 80ms? That should be possible.

Yes, port is set for DTMFF. You'd think the fax server modem would have settings for DTMF timing and spacing just like Avaya does for analog trunks, but as far as I know it doesn't...

Just don't let them make it your issue when it is their issue, they shouldn't sell the kit if it can't be made to work with different systems :)

What kind of analog board do you use in combination with the fax server software?

Hello intrigant. His initial post says that he uses a Mainpine modem board. I know that brooktrout-intel boards have many adjustment that can be set but I have not heard of a Mainpine board.

It is well known that the Mainpine board is a pain in the *ss board if it comes tot dtmf as it is hard coded with 100ms dtmf timers and unfortunally IP Office is hardcoded with 80ms dtmf timers.
Not compatible, try a brooktrout board or another pbx.
