Hi,

I am new to QTP. I record the script on the development environment and want to run on QA, which has a different domain. The script has checkpoints to check links on the page. The checkpoints always fail because the expected results of the href of the links have different domain than the actual ones. Is there a way to solve the problem? I really appreciate you help.

Thanks,
Tina

There are a number of ways to address this, but the easiest would be to run the script in update mode (Listed in the Run dropdown) which should essentially update the checkpoints to show the current data.

Failing that, your next best option is to look up the Help under the listing for: HP QuickTest Professional User's Guide > Enhancing Tests > Configuring Values > Configuring Constant and Parameter Values > Setting Values in the Configure Value Area

This will explain the process of editing checkpoint values to allow you to update them for your script in a different domain.

For future reference, it is a good idea to hold the different checkpoint/configuration settings outside of the script, and check the relevant option when you start the test.

Cheers,
Dave
