change devd which attach to a virtual ws controller

i created a print devd which attach to a virtual workstation cotroller. But after i run chgdevprt to change message queue, it doesn't work after i turn on the printer. it works well on another controller (ctl01). how can i change the message queue to the one i want. my os is V5r1, Pcomm 4.2 on pc.

thank you for your response.
I've got it. After i changed the configuration while i start a simulative printer session in my pc, it worked.
maybe it doesn't work if you change the devd in AS400 which attach to a virtual workstation controller after turn the device off, i'm not sure.
