I'm very new to linux, trying to learn how to use linux. I have trouble making my desktop resolution to be 1024x768. I've looked everywhere and ran every applications but still didn't get it to work. Please help me out, I installed both KDE 2 or higher and GNOME.

I've tried it but I got a message called "Segmentation Error" and it brought me back to the command prompt again. I even try the dos utility which have XConfigurator also but it doesn't do anything after I detected my video card.

Any other suggestion?
Thanks!

your should edit the file
/etc/X11/XF86config
go to "Screen section"
then there you change in the "subsection Desplay"
the value of "mode" and you put the one you want
save the file and restart your machine.
hope this well help

thanks Yazidi-med
