Is there a way to change a customer id in Greatplains?

There is a utility to do what you want, however it is not free. It resides in the Backoffice Tools Suite (v6, v7) or the Professional Services Tools Library (v7.5). It will automatically update all of your "core module" transactions as well. I don't think it updates records in third party modules.

Corporate Rennaisance Group also makes a product called Changer that does that and fancy masking changes. I believe it is significantly cheaper than GP Back Office Tools.
