Change color of checkbox

I am trying to figure out if there is anyway to change the color of a checkbox. I want to change the checkbox itself, not the border around it. I've read and read and can't seem to find an answer. Currently I have a checkboxlist and I would like the colors of each checkbox in the list to be different (Green, Brown, Yellow, Blue). If I have to change to checkboxes rather than the cbl that is fine... any help is appreciated.

I don't think that's possible using the built in checkbox. did you check the asp.net control gallery? you may find something there.

If it can be done in HTML then it can be done in ASP.NET. Ask in the HTML forum first and then post pack here if you have any problems implementing their suggestions.

Thanks dvannoy.... I read that right after ca8msm suggested I look on the HTML forum. Right now I am just creating my own user control that has the look and feel of a checkbox list.
